Rohit after a 3 day break again reached the NCA to begin his fitness program. He is currently training with his Indian teammates Ravindra Jadeja, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sanju Samson and others.

Rohit Sharma on ‘weight reduction’ session at NCA, advised to reduce weight for less strain on bothersome hamstrings and knee

Rohit Sharma, recently appointed captain of the white ball, has been suffering from a hamstring injury for some time. The knee and hamstring injury caused him to miss a few matches from the 2021 IPL, the India Tour of Australia and now the India Tour of South-Africa.

NCA fitness experts advised Rohit to reduce the weight for less strain on the knees and hamstrings.

According to the sources, he has set himself the goal of reducing the weight by 5 to 6 kg.

Rohit religiously follows the diet set by the NCA coaches. The HITMAN looked slimmer than before in photos posted by India’s opener Shikhar Dhawan.

Rohit isn’t the only one currently training at the NCA.

Ravindra Jadeja, who is also recovering from a left arm injury that excluded him from the South African series, has also landed at the NCA for training.

The duo were joined by Shikhar Dhawan, who is preparing for the ODI series against the Proteas with pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

While Dhawan last played for India against Sri Lanka in July, Bhuvi was part of India’s T20 World Cup squad which suffered a group stage exit.

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson, who was retained by the franchise for Rs 14 crore, was also in attendance. Check the pictures:

With Rohit Sharma injured, BCCI revealed that the All India Selection Committee appointed KL Rahul as their captain, with Jasprit Bumrah appointed their deputy. In fact, the duo are currently taking on the same roles in the game’s longest format, with regular skipper Virat Kohli with back spasms and vice-captain Rohit Sharma also treating an injury.
